If you can't be bothered reading my entire reply then don't bother replying as anything you have to say will probablly already be covered in the comment. I would appreciate it if you did give it a good read through at least once however, as I took a lot of time to explain my point of view.
Clearly you've made as much effort to distort what I said as much as possible. I never said that animals are more important, just that we have absolutely no proof that human beings are of a higher universal value, as in we have no proof that our lives are any more sacred than that of another species, regardless of our advantages. Unless you have proof of such things? Otherwise any arguement you make to the contrary is sheer sentimentalism. True, humans are the most intelligent forms of life on the planet but intellect is only as good as what you do with it and for most people, this doesn't amount to much more than working some pointless job in a factory or office, which is generally of a more detrimental effect to the whole world than a positive one.
In regards to the point I made about being more interested in saving a member of an endangered species than in saving starving humans, I would say that the world is not in need of more humans as we already have more than the planet can sustain. Besides in continients like Africa that have a high quantity of starving humans, there is already not enough food and water to go round, although only 300 million people live there, the area simply doesn't have the resources to support them all so all these humanitarian movements are actually worsening their problems and that of the whole world.
Unlike most species, human beings don't seem to have a natural mechanism that stops them from living beyond their means instinctively and it is for this reason that we need to understand and act on the problem of human overpopulation on an intellectual level and not a sentimental one.
In regards to your comment Charlie, it is true that human beings might be the "fittest" or the most advantaged species on the planet but consider this: If Westerners were to be cut off from the benefits of their supermakets, sewage system, facilities, electricity and first world medicine etc, ect, what do you think would happen to the majority of them? Lacking any form of self-suffiency, they would probably starve to death. What this shows is that the majority of people are in fact quite dependent on their Government for food and are probably a lot weaker than some of the endangered species you condemn because of the destruction of their natural habitats, rather than the artificial ones that most human beings rely on to spood feed them, their survival.
Jayla, I won't bother replying to your misinterpretation of my comment as it shows how moronic you are.
Furthermore, if it is the biological/intellectual advantages of humanity that make us of higher universal value than other species and not just more advantaged in terms of survival (Our biological advantage is undenieably a merely an advantage of intellect since human beings aren't the physically strongest species), then that doesn't explain our different treatment of species of higher sentimental value to us
For example: We slaughter a countless of number of pigs each day as livestock but most people, if not a good quantity, would view the slaughter of a cat or dog as being a horrible thing, despite the fact that pigs are smarter than domestic cats and around the same level of intelligence as that of a dog, yet we slaughter them without any qualms.
If its biological differences (Whether through physical strength or intelligence) that determine a species worth, on its on, (as you've said with your "Survival of the fittest" comment) then why do we treat pet animals more kindly for sentimental reasons when there are more intelligent species that we couldn't care less for?
My point is that we don't judge any species by what their actual advantages in terms of survival are anyway, so its silly to claim that our lives are more sacred simply because we are a stronger organism. The reason that we don't like to admit this is probably because if we stripped away the physical and intellectual differientation we would probably find that we aren't too different, in the sense that the same will to power and surival exist in all life, human or not.

Draft of Opinion Piece I'm writing for the Flannel...(I had to dumb it down a bit for high school readers...)
Is it just me or has the total over emphasis that today’s youth place on relationships resulted in a clear lack of independence, culminating in a weak generation of teenagers who lack any form of self-sufficiency or appreciation of the self? You merely have to browse a social networking site such as Bebo to see the thousands of youth that are totally obsessed with having another half and clearly see it as the be all and end all of life. Is it any wonder that most youth are weak and insecure when all their faith is placed in someone other than themselves?
Actually, come to think of it, is it any wonder that people are so fragile and dependent on each other when altruism as a value is so intensely forced on us since birth? When we come to expect others as being inherently good or that our own personal problems can be solved or dealt with through other people, is it really a surprise that so many end up dissatisfied and discontent?
Maybe if the same people who are desperately looking to solve their own insecurities through sentimentalism and other people, gave more thought to who they were and what their purpose in life was, they’d be less incomplete and to be frank, less boring. What does someone who shows no sign of being content in themselves and seems desperate to find comfort in others, seriously have to offer to anyone other than an already close friend, or family member?
Regardless of whether we will admit it or not, all life must compete and someone who makes no attempt to hide their own emotional vulnerability is instantly looked down upon with a certain amount of contempt, no matter how much some of us might try to deny it. Seeming weak or desperate certainly isn’t an attractive quality, to say the least.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying that relationships are bad or that it is wrong to lean on a trusted person for companionship, (It’s definitely not something I’m immune from). I just think that justifying your existence through another person, which let’s face it a lot of people more or less try to do, can only end in misery as someone tries to fill an emptiness that can’t be filled by anyone other than themselves.
Perhaps I’m being too pessimistic but this is how I see things and I don’t see the problem changing any time soon. Maybe if the majority of people had any appreciation for themselves and took more interest other elements of life, they’d actually feel some degree of content in themselves, instead of constantly trying to look for a resolution in another person, especially at our age.

Collection of ideas (Unfinished)
This is just a list of ideas that I will add to over the next month or so as I think of them...
*Real diversity is an enemy of all Egalitarian doctrines. For all to be equal, all must be the same. I believe that the end result of the modern world will be a mono-cultural society in which the economy is the end in itself rather than being a means to an end and human beings, as monocultural units, will be a slave to it and will exist as human resources or means of production. This is basically the end result of a Marxist society which is orientated towards socio-economics and views its people as means of production or "Comrades."
*Modern man looks down upon Aristocracy with contempt. It seems unfair to him that one should be be elevated to a higher position in society simply because of the family they are born into. What they seem content to ignore is that in modern Democracy, it can hardly be said that birthplace does not affect ones opportunties in life, although now it is due the modern worlds emphasis on economics. Considering that the values of both the Left and Right are so focused on wealth distribution is it really any wonder that we seem to be becoming more greedy and shortsighted everyday?
*When consumerism fails to fill a certain emptiness in his life, modern man tries to compensate with sentimentalism, often through others. The clear lack of independence this has created is particuarly consequential with the younger generation who often try to justify and define their existence through another half. Since there is generally nothing interesting about them or their other half, this can only end in failure and misery due to the lack of any form of self suciffiency.

The myth of progress
In my opinion, the worship that the modern world places on the "Left and Right" political spectrum, showcases the total over-emphasis placed by modern man on the role of economics in his ultimate destiny. Any sense or value of the self is no longer taught, or valued and has been replaced by propriety, any form of economic gain and the desire for short term status.
The irrational faith in the acclumation of wealth and in the progression of technology has replaced the need for any sense of identity and purpose, other than that listed above. Whilst far from supporting any elite or class structure based entirely on wealth, I certainly see Marxism as doing nothing to deal with the real problem, it still ultimately measures the worth and happiness of a people in economic terms. Wealth and technology are still viewed as ends in themselves, rather than means to an end, while the development of identity may resonate with some, it is becoming harder and harder to escape a prision without walls.
Of course the idea of all people being born "Equal and with equal opportunities" is a total absurdity, even if an Egalitarian distribution of wealth and power (On behalf of state) could be achieved, people are simply not born of the same characteristics and spirit for the concept of "Equal Opportunties" to be anything other than a naive fantasy.
Even if the aims of the enviromental left wing were actually extreme enough to really stand a chance of saving the enviroment, the chances of such a government being elected in "Freedumb and Democrazy" are about 0.0000001%. Even if a Eco-Socialist government could be elected, what would their noble vision seriously amount to, other than being removed from office in 4-12 years or so?
Who does Socialism really appeal to? Those who cannot take care of themselves and want someone else to manage their destiny whilst they feast off the resources of the planet, pointlessly consuming more as a carrion bird would devour a corpse? With the flat slate of equality, is it really a wonder that no one seems to know or value their own place in in the modern world? Is it not a problem in itself that many people can no longer take care of themselves?
Whilst many view the Middle Ages as "Barbaric", what could be more barbarous then the methods of warfare that are nowadays employed? I refer to chemical warfare and other methods, which would have once only be used to destroy unwanted animals or viruses.
In the modern world, animals (Aside from those in the Pet catergory), are treated worse than they ever have been, which seems strange for a suposedly enlightened age with "Humane" values. I of course refer to the treatment of livestock, who's mechanized un-natural existence,is a merely a reflection of modern man's life, which is mechanized in every sense of the word and lives an empty existence.

Film and T.V
Filming has gone well, myself, Cormack, Hugo's friend Andrew and Tom Wheeler have all been interviewed during the school week and in the weekend in Andrew's case and we have begun the editing process. Interviewing each of them separately, was really essential as it gave them the opportunity to really express their own styles with the neccessary focus. I feel the interviews went fairly well as all those interviewed had a strong interest in guitar and a lot to say about it as a result.
Film quality seems okay, a few interesting moments with random light, rain-soaked interviewee's and loud, inconsiderate passer-byers but this has mostly resulted in a humorous outcome rather than doing any real damage to the quality of the footage. I think most people with a passion of any kind will react well to the documentary as it has focused more on the passion and motivation of the players rather than technical aspects of the instrument.
All that really remains to be done in terms of filming is the intro and finish, which Hugo and I will do asap. After that it will mostly be editing work to make the the film presentable and polished. I still need to finish off my concept however which should be my first priority.
Thanks.

Humanism
How ironic that the most self righteous, seemly moralistic belief system on the planet is the most decadent, self-destructive set of ideals ever concieved. A belief system that allows just anyone to attain the illusion of moral superiority in enforcing the idea of equality amongst all human beings (Because obviously rationality takes a backseat to being politically correct) whilst simultaneously advocate total disgust and hatred for anyone who dares to think otherwise, therefore defeating the whole idea of all humans being equal regardless of their beliefs...Just ask a Humanist if they think a racist's viewpoint is equal to that of an anti-racist...If this doesn't force them to see another side of the argument or if they explode emotively then chances are, your dealing with a lost cause.
Whilst our planet's future is clearly that of ecocide from overpopulation, Humanists still seem content to push the idea that all Humans have a apparent "Universal" right to life, to all buy as much as they please and pollute as much as they please, regardless of their contribution to society. Whilst this inevitably brings a somewhat "Holier Than Thou" attitude into play, it seems that this same group of people are quite content to ignore such negative implications that this belief system inevitably has on all forms of life environmentally, including that of our own species, just as long as they can continue to claim the moral high ground. The fact that every other life form will have to suffer the consequences of all human beings having a "Universal" right to "Equality" and other smokescreen terms, is of no relevance to this self-righteous group of moral crusaders.
I'll work on this over time but here are a couple of good links to checkout if at all interested:
